The Santuario de la Memoria La Hoyada in Ayacucho marks a site where victims of Peru's 1980-2000 internal armed conflict were killed and buried, including remains found near a brick kiln known as El Horno. Forensic investigators identified the remains of more than a hundred people at the site before it was established as a memorial sanctuary. Photographed in 2020.
