Château de Vianden

The restored medieval castle of Vianden rises above the town on a rocky spur overlooking the Our River in northern Luxembourg, seen here in 2009 after decades of reconstruction by the Luxembourg state. Dating back to the 11th century, it is counted among the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine.
