Closer look at A Famosa
2008 Melaka, Malaysia
A Famosa, built by the Portuguese in 1511 shortly after their conquest of Malacca, is among the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Southeast Asia. This 2008 photograph shows a closer view of what remains of the fortress after the Dutch and British later dismantled most of its structure.
