Christ Church Cathedral rises above Cathedral Square in central Christchurch, New Zealand. Completed in Gothic Revival style in the 1880s, the Anglican cathedral was long the city's best-known landmark; this 2006 photograph predates the extensive damage it suffered in the 2011 earthquake.
