The statue of Bishop Gregory of Nin (Grgur Ninski) stands before the mausoleum of Diocletian in Split in this 1936 photograph. Created by sculptor Ivan Meštrović and unveiled in 1929, the bronze monument commemorates the medieval bishop who advocated for the use of the Croatian language in church liturgy.
