The interior of a telephone station in Valparaiso, Chile, photographed in 1895, apparently for LM Ericsson, the Swedish telephone equipment manufacturer. Valparaiso was an early adopter of telephone service in South America, reflecting the port city's commercial importance in the late nineteenth century.
