The Allakuli Khan caravanserai sits within Itchan Kala, the walled inner city of Khiva, Uzbekistan, built in the nineteenth century to house merchants traveling Silk Road trade routes. Itchan Kala was among Uzbekistan's first UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
