Fort Sint Jago, also known as Fort Coenraadsburch, stands on the hill overlooking Elmina and was built by the Dutch to defend the larger Elmina Castle below. This late nineteenth-century view captures the fort during the era of Dutch colonial rule on Ghana's coast.
