Hama Great Mosque
2008 Hama, Syria
This 2008 photograph shows another view of the Great Mosque of Hama, a historic religious complex in the center of the Syrian city along the Orontes River. Hama is also well known for its ancient norias, the large wooden waterwheels used since medieval times to lift river water for irrigation.
