Kyoto Ryoanji Shrine
2008 Kyoto, Japan
Ryōan-ji, a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, is famous for its rock garden of raked gravel and fifteen stones arranged so that at least one is always hidden from view regardless of vantage point. This 2008 photograph shows the temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating to the late 15th century.
