Hoan Kiem Lake, viewed here from its eastern shore in 2004, lies at the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter. The lake is tied to the Vietnamese legend of the Golden Turtle and is bordered by walking paths, the small Ngoc Son Temple, and the red Huc Bridge.
