Sofia's Alexander Nevsky Memorial Church, seen here in a 1910 photograph under its Bulgarian name, Sveti Aleksandar Nevski. The domed cathedral was raised as a memorial to the Russian, Romanian, and Bulgarian soldiers who died in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878.
