A cavalier bastion of Galle Fort, Sri Lanka, photographed in 2008. Originally built by Portuguese colonizers and substantially fortified by the Dutch in the seventeenth century, the fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Sri Lanka's southern coast.
