This is the Well of Heavenly Clarity, a rectangular pond in the Third Courtyard of the Temple of Literature in Hanoi. Founded in 1070 and later home to Vietnam's first national university, the temple grounds also hold stone stelae recording the names of doctoral graduates. Photographed in 2018.
