The Citadel of Hue was built in the early 19th century as the seat of Vietnam's Nguyen dynasty, enclosing the former imperial city behind moats and thick stone walls. This 2018 photograph shows a section of its perimeter, part of the UNESCO-listed Complex of Hue Monuments.
